Jan Gombert has been a software developer and manager for twenty years. His first company created the Halo library of graphics tools and the paint program Dr. Halo, which sold more than 4,000,000 copies. He subsequently started SkillsBank (now SkillsTutor) with Dr. Garry McDaniels, which developed educational software, currently being used by over 3,000 schools.
Jan has broad experience in all phases of the developed process, from analysis through training, but his greatest asset is his ability to turn ideas into code. He has written software using Flash, Flex, XHTML, CSS, Perl, PHP, Javascript, C, C++, C#, Visual Basic, various assembly languages, Fortran, SAS, Delphi, Toolbook, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Microsoft Access, and dBase.
He also taught high school mathematics for eight years, in a diverse range of settings from Great Malvern, England to Detroit.
